Colton Ames is assistant director for the Institute for European Studies (EURO) and has previously served as EURO’s graduate assistant for educational outreach. His work for EURO has included writing for the Across the Pond blog and weekly News Summaries, as well as developing educational content for the upcoming Digital Toolbox educational resource.
Colton is a doctoral student in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the IU School of Education where he conducts research on international forms of citizenship education. Colton’s research examines how citizenship and national identity are developed in schools around the world, and how those ideologies are framed by a nation’s political climate and international affairs. Colton received his Master’s degree in Religious Studies from Indiana University and has taught or assisted in teaching courses on social studies education in the U.S.; multicultural education in the U.S. and educating for social justice; and a variety of topics in the field of religious studies, specifically around his specialty on the religions of the ancient Mediterranean.
